Triathlon

As the triathletes say, they are competing in four, not three, events: the results of the second broodings could dramatically change the situation in the standings. After the cross-country, 14 pairs remained in the fight for the Cup of Russia and gold medals of Eurasian Games in the program CCN-4*, all the participants who had finished the cross-country race were allowed to compete.

The main intrigue unfolded during the performance of the final five participants. The leader Alexander Markov was 3,8 penalty points ahead of his closest pursuer Albert Khalikov, Vitaly Sivakov was in the third place with 2,1 p.p. gap. Vitaly has finished his performance without failures, while Albert Khalikov “brought” two mistakes on obstacles and moved to the fifth position. Vitaly was in the second place, the athlete was separated from the championship by 5.9 points – less than two faults. Alexander Markov, the last performer, made only one fall and became the owner of the Cup of Russia-2022 and the winner of the first Eurasian Games in triathlon. Maria Litvinenko took the third place, the debutant of “four stars” Lydia Yudina was one step away from the podium.
The Russian team got the victory in the team event of the Eurasian Games. The “hosts” beat the athletes from Belarus by 30.9 points.

The team of the Moscow Region consisting of Maria Litvinenko and Alexander Markov won the team championship of the Cup of Russia.
According to the results of the second broodmares two horses were not allowed to show in show jumping. Russian rider Darya Samus won in the program CCN-3* and made no mistakes neither in cross-country nor in show jumping. Russia-1 junior team took first place in the team competition.
The representative of Belarus Anastasia Zhur showed the best result in the junior classification but Russia-2 took the victory in the team ranking.
