As EEA Secretary General Sergey Buikevich noted, this is the second time the Uzbek team will compete in the Nations Cup finals.
Two team stages of Nations Cup were held in April and May – in Tashkent and Bishkek. As a result, the riders of the Uzbek team were first, the athletes of Kyrgyzstan were second and Kazakhstan was third.
Owing to international constraints, Russian riders in the capitals of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part only in team and individual competitions of Maxima Masters Eurasia project held under the rules and jurisdiction of the Eurasian Equestrian Association. The Russian riders won “silver” in Tashkent, but they were fourth in Bishkek due to the health problems of two horses.
The representative of Uzbekistan Nurjon Tuyakbaev was the first in the Eurasian tournament which also included the FEI Grand Prix of the Eurasian Leagues World Cup in show jumping, where the riders performed in the individual competition. As there will be no final of Eurasian League in 2022, by the results of past competitions, Tuyakbaev received a ticket to the final of World Cup, which will be held in April 2023 in American Omaha.
The third round of the Eurasian League, which is scheduled for May 26-29 in Kazakhstan, is unlikely to change the situation in the drawing of both team tickets to Barcelona and the personal license.
The year-round training base for Uzbekistan is the headquarters of the Eurasian Equestrian Association, MAXIMA PARK, near Moscow.
The association includes ten post-Soviet countries and Iran. They are grouped into three groups: European (Russia, Belarus, Moldova), Central Asian (Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan) and Caspian-Caucasian (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran). All of them, in turn, make up Regional Group 3 of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
